Family pictures

We've been wanting to share these pictures with everyone for over a month now... but since certain grandparents didn't know about them until Christmas, we refrained. When Caylin's Aunt Lisa, Uncle Dave, and cousins Maddy, Nik, and Trent were up from NC visiting for Thanksgiving, we went and had pictures taken to surprise Gpa and Gma Brown!

Christmas day is quickly approaching and about a day or two ago we realized that Caylin had not made a visit to see Santa yet. Fortunately, we were able to track him down while we are up visiting in PA this weekend! It took a little more coaxing (or quite a bit more) to get Caylin to go sit in Santa's lap this year as compared to last But after we let the family that was behind us go ahead to visit with Santa, Caylin became much more willing. Though, as you can tell by the picture below, this was a pretty serious thing, and there would be no smiling on her part!

Merry Christmas to all!

Christmas Cookies

This weekend was full of Christmas activities.... We decorated our tree, did some shopping, played with Caylin's toy Nativity Set, and read books about Christmas. We also made some Christmas Cookies. I think Caylin enjoyed eating the left over sprinkles more than putting them on the cookies....

Our Lil Bug is 18 months old... wow!

So, over Thanksgiving weekend, we marked another milestone for Caylin. She hit the 1 1/2 year mark. Consequently, when she went in for her 18month well visit, we learned that she FINALLY passed the 20lb. mark too. Despite her petite stature, Caylin is a happy and healthy lil bug!

Here are a few pictures for everyone to enjoy!

Bathtime Fun!

Talkin on the phone

In case you were not aware, ANYTHING, can be made into a phone, according to Caylin! She love phones! She can't get enough of them. If there is one in sight, she will try to get it. If there is not and the mood strikes, she will make anything she has near her into one. See what I mean....

Blowing Bubbles

Caylin loves bubbles, she asks for me to get them out almost daily. However, recently she has become more interested in blowing the bubbles.

Posted due to popular demand

Ok, so there is another Halloween day video clip that we have been meaning to post, I just haven't gotten around to it. Tim, however, has been telling lots of people about it, creating quite a demand for this little gem to get posted....

So, without further ado:

Happy Halloween!

It is our 2nd Halloween and we thought we better ride the Ladybug wave before she starts to hate them! Happy viewing! The pictures above were taken at Monday's Toddlin' Time Class party

Caylin's Halloween evening was earlier than most, considering she goes is ready for "ni ni, ni ni" (night night, night night) by 6:30 most nights! She had fun walking up and down our sidewalks instead, as you can see below.

Video updates

Finally, a recent (yesterday) video of Caylin dancing and playing w/ her Dora ride-on toy...

Video updates

Can you guess what Caylin's favorite fruit is these days?

Video updates

This is a video from when Caylin was really starting to get a handle on this walking thing:

We Are....

...Penn State

A little known fact, Penn State has a great "luck" asset this year. Caylin has worn her little PSU outfit (t-shirt is under the sweatshirt) for every game this season... and wouldn't you know, they haven't lost a game yet!

Why do we bother with toys???

What do mama's watch, the Dirty/Clean wheel on our dishwasher, and the sectional's little storage drawer all have in common? These days, they are some of Caylin's favorite things to play with around the house. Not sure why we bother keeping toys around....

*Notes:
1) the "crying" that was done is not real crying (more for dramatic effect)
2) she was not hurt during the little fall at the end of the clip

We thought this clip also give you a little insight on our little bug's spunky personality!

A tough opponent

I was importing some of our recent videos of Caylin and thought I'd share....

This first video was taken a few weeks ago, not sure how we got into an arm wrestling match at the end of dinner but....

Where is Caylin????

Ok, ok, so it is pretty evident where our little ladybug is in the picture below... but it is so fun, we had to post it. Caylin has gotten into this thing where she likes to pull everything she can get her little hands on into her crib (or in this case pack n play @ Gma/Gpa Brown's) . Before she fell asleep for her afternoon nap (on Tuesday), Caylin pulled all of the stuff animals she could reach into the p-n-p. And fortunate fun for us, Daddy was able to capture it with his phone's camera before she woke up (which is an impressive feat in itself, as that little head usually pops up the minute the door opens).

Labor day rider

On Labor day, Tim and I decided it would be fun to pack up the bikes and bike trailer and head out for a day of riding. Caylin had a blast rolling along behind daddy's bike (kudos to Tim for going 25 miles w/ 30ish (20ish of kiddo and 10ish of trailer) extra in tow. Here are are a few shots of Caylin during our picnic lunch at the half way point!

Caylin turns 1, and other fun updates

Ok, so I had a goal to get some of Caylin's First Birthday celebrating posted before she hit 13 months old. Well, since that is tomorrow, I thought I better get moving!

Here are a few pictures from an early birthday celebration with Caylin's Granny Brown, while she was in town for a visit! That adorable hat is Caylin's Birthday Hat (Thanks Gma and Gpa Brown); it is made to look like a birthday cake, with "Birthday Girl" written on top of it. Hindsight, we realized we didn't actually get a pictures of Caylin w/Granny this time. So, we're posting a picture of Caylin and Granny from their first meeting!

About a week later, it was time for a Ladybug Picnic! It was a beautiful day for a picnic! Caylin was blessed to have several family members and friends available to celebrate eventhough it was Memorial Weekend! I think the pictures show how much fun she had!

Our emerging toddler is still quite a little girl, (just shy of 17lbs at her 12month dr. visit). Most people we encounter thing she is only 9months or so old. She loves to do things with her hands and touch everything! Caylin has been learning some sign language... big surprise there! She can sign: eat, more, all done, book, baby, and hat. We're still working on: drink, milk, mama, dada, and Abbie (dog). She waves and says "hi" to almost everyone she see, making shopping and other activities feel like are in a parade ( you know, momma and daddy are the vehicles and Caylin is the pretty girl). She has recently started to say "ni, ni"(night, night), when she is ready for bedtime. She has been saying "dada" for quite a while, but still only seems to say "mama" when she is frustrated or wants something... go figure! Caylin isn't walking by herself yet, but she definitely loves to stand up almost anywhere she can and has recently begun to cruise around on the furniture. When she can't stand or cruise, she relies on her own version of a crawl to get around; which looks more like a wounded soldier crawl. Caylin didn't cut her first tooth until just before her 1st birthday. However, they have been popping out since, with number 4 almost through.

Below, is one more picture, taken on Father's day weekend at Gma&Gpa and Dave&Joan's boat. Caylin is chilling on the boat after swimming at the marina's pool! This girl love the water, much to her daddy's delight! She is eating one of her favorites, cantaloupe!

Life with Caylin is so fun and rewarding! So much so that we seem to have trouble finding time updating the blog... Hope this serves for a nice update since the winter!!!
