Who has time to blog these day? Apparently not us! The promised Chistmas and News Year blogging just never seemed to get done, and now it feels a bit silly to do. So, I think we'll just pick up with what is currently going on in the world of Bug and Lil G.
Caylin seems to have had a growth spurt. In about a month, she has grown almost 2 inches. Along with that her imagination seems to be keeping pace. We love it, but sometimes we are so perplexed with where she gets these thing. A great example of this happened just yesterday. We were driving to Gavin's 4mo dr. visit (more on that later) and she asked, "Mama, what is that place?", pointing to a large office building. After telling her that it was an office building she come out with this: "Dat my occice (office) where I work. I has puple (purple) and white puter (computer) and send cheese emails (thanks Imagination Movers for that one). " Then she went on to tell me who she emails. It was quite a hoot! But my favorite of late is the way she "introduces" me to other kids we meet. She'll gesture towards me with a Vanna White like hand and say, "Dis is my mudder (mother), Mama." It is like she is saying, "This is my mother, I call her mama." What adds to the humor is that she knows our first names.
Caylin continues to be a great big sister to Gavin. She is always looking out for him and trying to help in any way she can. She loves to count things and has been identifying letters based on people’s names ( C Caylin, D Daddy, G Gavin, etc.). Also, she is making progress on the potty training front. Every once in a while she has a 'bad day', but for the most part she is making it. We started taking advantage of her love of stickers and that seems to help motivate her.

snow angelCaylin is not the only one who is growing. Yesterday not only marked 4 months old for Gavin, it was his 4 month wellness check up. He weighed in at 13lbs 4 oz and 24 ½ in. long. We thing he just went through a growth spurt, that included going back to waking up every 3 hrs, ugh! None-the-less, Gavin continues to be a happy little guy. It doesn’t take much to get him to smile and even giggle. He’s gotten quite skilled at rolling over from stomach to back. And, he has gone from back to stomach a few times as well. When on his playmat, he is wiggles and squirms around, ending up turning himself around and working his way off the mat.
Gavin has been having some skin issues. The consensus is that it is just baby ecezma (that we hope he grows out of). However, it has been quite difficult to manage on his face. Just when we think it is almost cleared up, it starts to flair up again. At his most recent appointment, his doctor indicate that we may have to go to a dermatologist if it keeps returning.

trying out his "Jump n Jive" bouncerThough the big snow that we got in early February bought me an extra week off, I return to my part-time job on Feb. 10th. That means that Gma and Gpa Brown’s house got a whole lot busier 2-3 days a week, as well. Yup, Tim’s Mom (along with Dad’s support) is watching both kiddos for us now. There was a bit of a learning curve (for everyone) but I think they’ve started to settle into a good routine.
