6 months of Caylin
It has been quite some time since we've posted anything. So, we thought we better do so, seeing that Caylin will be 6 months old, tomorrow! We've been having so much fun with our little bundle! She is so darn cute and has a great personality (of course that is our biased opinion)! She is eating pureed foods now, can sit up with some assistance, and roll back and forth. She loves to socialize and studies everything that goes on around her.
Here are a few pictures of our little Ladybug across the past 6 months:

Baby is here
While I believe it is well spread news at this point, we would be remiss if we didn't add the news to the blog. Caylin Joanna Brown was born on May 28, 2007 (yes, on her due date). She arrived at 9:21pm, weighing in at 7lbs. 5 oz. and measuring 20.5 inches long. It was a relatively quick labor/delivery, which I am quite thankful for. And though Tim and I are quite biased, she is just too adorable for words. Take a look for yourself:

She has been a joy thus far. We can't wait for everyone to meet her!

Waiting Game
Well, we are at 39weeks (and two days) in the pregnancy. The favorite question of Carrie's coworkers has been "Your still here???" There seems to be a mixed opinion as to when our little Baby Brown is going to make an appearance. Last week's doctor's visit brought a "labor will probably come before your due date," from one doctor. Today, at this week's visit, it was more like "it could be any day, but let's schedule your induction date, just in case."
I'm sure those of you keeping track of Baby Brown through the blog will learn, either by the phone chain, from one of us/our family members, or when we get back to computer land the whens and whats of Baby Brown's arrival. We are definitely becoming eager to meet her. And, I know many are just as curious to learn what her name will be.
Stay tuned...

More Showers
Apparently April isn't the only month for showers. May has definitely had it's fill of well wishes and gifts for Baby Brown. We don't have any pictures from those events, as yet. None-the-less, so may people have show us great support, encouragement, and generosity as we await Baby's big entrance into the world. May 1st bought a "double" shower at one of the schools that Carrie works at - Henderson ES. "Double" in the fact that we were celebrating two pregnancies. Just a few days later,May 5th, friends and family gathered at Mom and Dad Brown's house to celebrate. It was so many friends there... many whom I haven't had a chance to see since before or early in the pregnancy. It was a blast. On May 9th, it was Tim's turn to be showered... Many of his co-workers came together to celebrate Baby Brown. He was very excited and we were both touched by their generosity as well. The showers wrapped up on May 16th, with the 3rd of Carrie's work sites, Montclair ES, having a Ladybug themed shower. From the yummy cake w/ the school's mascot (a cardinal) and baby ladybug cake, to the ladybug hors d'oeuvre, they made sure that Baby Brown's ladybug themed room was recognized! After all of these showers and the encouragement/support we think we are as ready as we can be for Baby!

April Showers
The first half of April has brought new meaning to the phrase "April Showers", as family, friends and coworkers have really started showering us with many generous gifts and well wishes for Baby Brown arrival.
The first shower was a surprise, to Carrie, that is. Given by Carrie's mom and Aunt Marcia, Carrie was totally oblivious to the behind the scenes happenings when arriving for an Easter weekend visit to PA. The shower was held Friday (April 6th) evening. Here are some pictures:

The second shower occurred just 3 days later, at work! All of the ladies that Carrie works with at the Child Find program (for preschool aged children) gathered to wish Baby Brown a safe and happy arrival, as well. The link below leads to some photos from that shower: (from Tammi Hopkins' costco.com posting... you will need to create a login, but they don't send you spam or any other weird stuff)

It has been so wonderful to see everyone and to be able to celebrate this exciting time in our lives.
Thanks to all!

A 30 week update
We've had a few comments about the lack of updating on the blog. So, here you go! Not much new to report. Carrie's tummy is expanding. Tim likes to compare it to growing zucchini, which we have been doing in our garden every summer. That is, zucchini grows so fast, you can almost watch it growing. Likewise, he says that every time he looks at Carrie's belly, it looks as though it has grown.
The house has started to go through some minor changes for now. We've started to clear out what we were calling the guest room to make way for baby. There is still quite a bit to shift around (and purge), but we are both sure that nesting instincts have started to set in for Carrie and her spring break will include lots of cleaning, arranging, rearranging, and donating anything from old clothing to furniture.
That's all for now. We hope to get some prego pictures soon for those of you who have been asking. Carrie is the usual photographer in the family, so getting pictures of her can be a challenge. If nothing else, we have scheduled a maternity picture session with a photographer friend in May.
Thanks to all for your prayers and well wishes during this exciting time!

A Girls' spa day
On Monday (Jan. 29th) Carrie and Baby Girl Brown had their first mother/daughter day. It consisted of a day off of work and a trip to a near by spa, compliments of Tim. The afternoon was spent relaxing, wrapping up with an 85 minute "pregnancy" massage. If anyone is looking for a nice/new place to try out a spa experience, Carrie and Baby Girl highly reccomend Poplar Springs Inn and Spa!

THE 21 WEEK ULTRASOUND
For those of you visiting for the first time, or Baby Brown Blog followers, we have lots of new photos and info to share with you. First, and most importantly, Baby Brown's development appears to be going well and is right on schedule. Take a look for your self... They couldn't even fit the whole body in one shot:
Finally, the news that everyone has been asking for.... the gender. According to the ultrasound technician as well as the doctor, they are 99% sure that Baby Brown is Baby GIRL Brown. Take a look for yourself:
We celebrated by taking a trip to BabiesRUs to start a registry for her, followed by dinner out. We've also started a registry on www.myregistry.com (password: babybrown).
Thanks for Checking in!
*Disclaimer: In Tim and Carrie vernacular, the word GIRL does not necessarily equal pink, frilly, or lacy.
